OTHER PRODUCTS

1- PIG IRON
In 2007 we used 91% of our pig iron output to produce crude steel.  Pig iron contains 4.0% to 5.0% of carbon, 0.4% to 1.0% of silicon, 0.03% or less of sulphur and 0.15% or less of phosphorus

2- SLABS
We export slabs, which are processed into other forms of finished steel, to steel and metallurgical businesses. In 2007, we processed approximately 59% of slabs into other products at our facilities

3- HOT-ROLLED STEEL
Our hot-rolled steel is up to 1,850mm wide and between 1.5mm and 16mm thick. It is used in oil and gas pipelines (including those operating under low temperatures and high pressure), ships, buildings and high-pressure vessels. We also produce steel with high minimum yield strength, ranging from 300 to 550 Mega Pascals (MPa).

4- COLD-ROLLED STEEL
Our cold-rolled steel is up to 1,820mm wide and between 0.35mm and 2.5mm thick. It is used in automobiles, tractors and combine bodies, and in metal structures, stamped goods, casings for household appliances, roofing and facing materials.

5- HOT- DIP GALVANISED STEEL
We export galvanised steel up to 1,800mm wide and between 0.4mm and 2.0mm thick. It is used in the manufacture of roll-formed sections, building structures, car parts, casings and components for household appliances. We also export low carbon steel, micro-alloyed with titanium (IF-steel) for extra deep-drawing, which increases the plasticity level of galvanised steel.
